I got my first car recently. Found it on Facebook. It's a 1977 Ford Maverick. The color: DUCK TAPE. We have since stripped the duck tape, and are working on the minor repair issues, such as carburator, choke, interior, tires, etc... Like I've seen said on other threads, someone said "Mavericks can be addicting" and they were completely right. I go to the body shop any chance I get just to see the car and work on it. My Uncle works at the body shop, and has a friend who rebuilt the carb for $60 and is going to give me the paint for free, since he has some left over, to hold over till I can afford a real paint job. Also, another guy said he had a Maverick with a fuel cell instead of a gas tank. I'm in the same boat. That's about the only thing that wasn't original on my car. I guess that's all I can say for now, but my avatar is a picture of the Duck tape. Great Site! -Kyle
Thanks. I'm getting used to the forum, and it's got some pretty neat features. Yeah, it is a pritty nice car, just needed a little carb work and an exhaust and tires to make it streetable, but I'm going to paint it, too.
