[IMG]I'm very new, just joined the other day. Right after I aquired a 72 Comet GT. I was getting off work and passed by a junkyard and saw this car, and had to turn around and ask about it. That crazy thing is, I'm a GM guy, but can appreciate :tiphat:a funky lil ride like this, esspecially it's condition. So I talked to the owner, he said it spun the tires out in the lot. Factory 302 automatic, 82k on the speedo. Buckets, consol came with it.
So I found your site looking for info on the car. So far very informative. Although I have one question... Would it depreciate from the value of the car if I would modifiy the suspension? I found out the car is practically the same as a 67-69 mustang, cougar. So I figured most if not all the aftermarket stuff would work on the ride. I read that the floor panels are the same, is the correct? I know that's a lot for our first introduction, but I kinda dig this lil thing. Nice to meet you all.

    here's a couple pix...[IMG]

The last pic, is when I got her home and got the rim re-sealed. So what do you guys think? Is it worth something? How rare is it. As far as I know, it's all original. Thanx for looking, and nice meeting everyone.:bananaman

Welcome to the board. Lots of new parts being made for these cars. I would say upgrades will improve the value of the car. Nice Interior.:Welcome:

thanx guys. Unfortunately, it will take the back burner to other projects. I just want to drive it for a bit til I can get to it. Call me crazy, but I have a 62 Impala 4dr ht that I'm about to turn into a 2dr ht. That's the doner car behind the Comet. So I'm just gonna drive her for now. Thanx again for your comments.

:Welcome:to the board. Comets are the greatest. That is a console from another car. Our cars didn't have consoles. I've got a Granada console in my Comet....

Console is a 1970 Mustang or Cougar, I can't really tell if it has any woodgrain trim from the pix.

    I like this Comet GT.

    Grabber green?

The car is tan. The console was sitting on the back seat when I first saw the car. I gotta pull off the carb and have it rebuilt tomorrow.

I also have a 62 Impala, 72 Duster with a 440 waiting in the garage for it. And a 86 Monte that is getting a 4.3 transplant with harness and all. I'm currently driving a 70 Valiant:). I like old cars.
    Thanx for all the hospitality:thumbs2:.

I would like to go mustang II front end with Heidts four link in the rear. But who knows.:burnout:
