I think he bought them this way. Maryland loves its road salt. Plus he lived on the Eastern Shore which is between the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean.
That Orange car is nice, I would think that someone would do what ever it takes to restore it, I know that I would, but it would have to get in line behind my 74.
Both Grabber look real nice. Too bad if they are rusty... I just hope somebody will bring them back to life!
Wow, it looks like it's still work in progress. I would love to see it, have any pix? Is the motor built?
Motor is and will be stock. Dont really have any pics other than ones showing the mods made to the drive train.
57 Ranchwagon?!?! SWEET! That's exactly what I got, except mine has a Chrysler motor instead of a Lincoln Motor. I'm in the process of tearing it down, and it's in pretty bad shape, but it was free for me, so it's worth it. Sorry, the Maverick is really nice, if only for the body. If nothing else, just gut it and replace everything that's rusted out. All I'd figure you'd have to do would be find a wrecked parts car for patches. -My not-so-nice wagon.
A 57 Ranchwagon is a car I've wanted since I was 16 yrs old. Finally found mine 2 yrs ago out in western MO. Was a fun road trip to go get it. Hooked up with a lot of friends and had a blast, except coming back through the mountains on icy roads.
Just found another funny part in the trunk of the orange Maverick, a 3 ft black snake. He was down in the trunk drops. Was hard to get him without being bit. Once I got him to where I could grab his head, he wrapped himself around the wiring harness. Guess he just didn't want to leave. But, he on his way to a new home. I set him loose out in the woods.
Well for all those wondering. I bought the Green 70 Grabber off of Dennis today. My dad came over from WV and picked it up this morning. Dennis is truly an enthusiast and one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. I think this one will get done before my GT because it is in far better shape. I'll keep you all posted as it is transformed back to a street machine. - Matt
