I started working on my mav today. I never did this work before, but I bought a mig welder and I started cutting the left quarter panel. The old rusty panel came out easy and I put the new quarter on with screws until I can weld it. Tomorrow is another day.
Looks good!! Go real slow on the welding. Its very easy to warp that panel if you let too much heat build up.
Hi Tony, did you instal the bobcat tail lights yet? I made the cut like that because the quaters I bought are patch panels not nos. The ends of the panels are just rounded over, not stamped out like the ford. The body line cut would have been to hard for me to get it close to being right. I bought a panel flanger from horbor frieght tools. I could not flange the panel on the body line. Thanks to every one for their kind words, any input is great and needed. If a had the money someone else would be doing the work, but im having a great time and learning something new. If the body comes out O.K. I think im going to paint it myself too.:bananaman
I like those lights man, looks good. I think I may have to "fab" myself a pair of those one of these days, since the cost of actual Bob's are cost prohibitive, for me anyways
