My dad recently passed on my Granmother's 77 Maverick four door with 302 and Auto. Only 53,000 miles. The car had been setting for about 5 years, but I have her up and running. Biggest need right now is a new fuel sender and maybe the rubber doughnut that seals the filler tube where it enters the fuel tank. Actually a new tank would maybe be best if I knew what would bolt right in and where to get it. I would try and take the old sender out to see if I can fix it, but am not sure what kind of gasket it has and have had no luck in locating a sourse for a new fuel sender gasket in case the old one is destroyed during removal.
Welcome to the forum. What part of Missouri are you from? You can get a new tank through Napa. The other items can be purchased through www.autokrafters.com
Here's what you need...check the info in this post http://mmb.maverick.to/showpost.php?p=449858&postcount=5
Another granny hand-me-down! We need to start a club!!! Got mine from my wife's great grandmother. It has changed a bit in the past 5 years...but she would be proud if she was still alive to see it.
I took my grandmother for a ride last year...she was NOT impressed. Something about the rear end sliding around in front of us during a turn...I thought she was enjoying it and laughing, it was more of a "painful grimace"...
Welcome to the board. The Maverick Comet Group will be having their yearly meeting in Joplin around the middle of July. Come on out to it.
I am in Knob Noster, Mo. About 60 mi East of Kansas City, near Whiteman AFB I appreciate the help from all. especially the part numbers for gaskets and floats. What is the part number for the straps on my 77 if needed? I did do a search on the subject and got more background. It seems odd that new tanks are available for the 77 but not senders!
