Fixed my Fuel Sending Unit today ...

    Luckily I don't need a new fuel sending unit since it was an easy fix. The Filter Sock had slipped all the way up the pickup tube jamming the float so it was stuck on 1/2 full ...

    Here is what it looked like when I removed it from the tank:

    And here is my quick fix. I put a zip tie tightly around the pickup tube so there is no way it can slide up again and jam the float lever.

    Tested resistance with Digital Multimeter and it is within spec ...

    If you haven't put it back in yet, I would take a hacksaw blade and rough up the tube where the zip tie is. Give it something to bite on rather than smooth metal.

    It's back in and leak tested already. If it happens again I'll do that next time. The zip tie is pretty tight and does not slide easily but show knows what will happen after sitting in gas for a while .....

    Luckily the guy that restored my tank put a drain on it so it's not that big a deal ..
