I was given a 1972 for maverick with 26k on it. At the moment it is completly stripped. I have a 8-point roll cage and sub-frame connectors. I am building a street strip car. I am currently looking for better brakes and suspension. I am putting in a 302 from my old 88 town car. Right now i am welding in everything and looking for suggestions on modifications (where to buy..ect..). Thank you for your help. Pictor.
yea definatly. theres a 76 v8 being stripped out in the forsale section. he has the front disc parts listed for sale. you can replace all the front suspension for probably less then $500 and some 4 leaf springs in the back should have you riding pretty well. unless you want to jump up a noch and get a mustang II front end going
it eliminates the shock towers is the biggest benefit. probably not a big deal since your dont really need the extra space for a big block or anything. the spring and shock sit between the upper and lower a-arms, rather then up in the shock tower on top of the upper controll arm. a new kit plus having it put in would probably run you 3k though.
im not famiular with their stuff but this is what im talking about aside from rebuilding your stock front end with high end replacment parts this is about the best thing you can do with the front suspension
someone out there was offering a maverick kit, i forget who though. im sure someone will know though. the ones i posted were off a stang
yea thats just a highly upgraded version of a stock maverick front suspension. still very cool though. see how the shock and spring still mounts up in the shock tower? with the mustang II front end you dont have that. but you would need alot of custom fabrication to get a MII front end in your car that global west kit looks like it bolts into the stock suspension locations without any custom fabrication needed. i think you'd be better off with that
