engine crossmember location?

Anyone have pics of where the engine crossmember is supposed to bolt?

I have a 69.5, and I know that these never came with v8s. Thus, I figured that maybe the reason I couldnt find any damn place that it would go, that my car didn't come with the mounting holes.

I have a stock maverick engine crossmember that I bought along with the frame stands and tranny crossmember, so it should fall right in there... somewhere...

 

if you look on the frame where the "sockets" are that the lower controll arms bolt into, its on the frame right behind them. should be a threaded hole on each side. but like you said, 69.5's would have no reason to have these holes already predrilled so you may not find a factory location to bolt it to.

i thought it actually tied into the frame mounts. if you run a search i started a thread a few weeks ago about trying to get that crossmember into my '76

My 69.5 has them.

 

My 70 has them. The holes will be on the bottom side of the frame rails. The cross member fits just ahead of the steering drag link.

you can get them from Mustangs Unlimited and the like .... Mustangs used the same bolts ...
