Anybody ever figure out a way to convert to disc but keep the 4 lug set up? Did a search but didn't come up with anything.

I guess you could try using Disc's off a Foreign Car maybe Toyota or Mazda if you could somehow rig them to fit. I haven't seen to many US Makes with 4 Lug Disc's at least not w/Rear Wheel Drive. Personally I don't understand the whole 4 lug vs. 5 lug thing I just know (at least i've been told) I need the 5 lug setup in order to upgrade to disc's.

To me 5 lug just means one extra lug nut to worry about getting lost :)

I seem to recall a Mustang place selling that set up for Mustang people that wanted to keep the 4-lug set-up. It was a kit that used the drum brake spindles.

I made my own 4 lug conversion. Got discs and calipers off of a 2002 nissan sentra. Fabbed up some bracket, had the hubs turned down, just like for the scarebird setup. Don't have them installed yet, just waiting on the custom hoses.

Seems the cheapest thing to do would be to have the 5 lug rotors redrilled to 4 lug. Of course, over the long term, that would mean you'd have to have them redrilled every time the rotors need replaced. And also, the center hub may have to be machined down?

Yea, I have a couple of emails out to a few places waiting for a response. I can machine the hub myself but not convert the rotors.

Great thread Dennis. Cars that are drivers with little hp could benefit from this. Like the car I am doing now.

Did you ever get a response back from any of the companies that you sent them to?

I know there's a Fox body Mustang that runs in Tucson that still has the 4 lug wheels on it. I always imagined he had front discs on it.:)

The fox Mustangs do, my '80 Capri RS is 4 lug with disc brakes. The lug pattern is different then Mavericks though.
