I think anyone considering reproduction parts needs to look at this thread: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=44652

There was ZERO demand for some of the popular and often hard to find trim pieces requiring pre-payment. And compared to sheet metal, these would have been very reasonable prices.

Good luck though. I tried door panels years ago - they would only do runs of 100 pairs in ONE single color and style. You couldn't even sell 100 pairs of black 71-72 deluxe Grabber door panels in a lifetime, let alone in a timeframe to actually get them reproduced. And a metal Grabber hood? Fagetaboutit. They'd easily be over $1000 each if you could even find a place willing to do a tooling and stamp only 100.

I love Mavericks and Comets, so I never give up hope. I keep approaching new potential suppliers anytime I get a chance, but I run into the same roadblocks time after time. It's not that it CAN'T be done, it's that there's not enough demand to sell the minimum required quickly enough. Dan mentioned the Maverick valve covers. Luckily I made a little profit by the time all of them were sold, but was it worth it since it took two years? No, not if you factor in my time, trouble, and the opportunity cost of my investment. But I'm still glad I did it. I really wanted to see them done so we'd have them. And I have to say, I thought ALOT of other people would feel the same way. I was certainly wrong about that. It's embarrassing that BRONCO valve covers have more demand than Maverick ones. And as I mentioned in the above thread, Scott Drake (who produced them for me) virtually won't even consider doing anything Maverick related again.

Again, good luck - and Godspeed...

It depend on a lot of factor. My father and I dont have the space some of you have to store part car. Also where we live, finding a Maverick is very difficult since these car took 3 years to rust (the original Stallion my father bought in 76 started to rust after 3 years), so lot of these car were crush here.

Also, like some mentionned... not everybody has the same budget and the same idea when building their car.

My father bought the frame cover Joe already produced (are we the only one???). We didn't even check the price we could have for a used one (can we find one???). My father wanted top quality so he bought Joe's one and was not desapointed, even with the shipping price.

Just imagine the economy my father will have when his Stallion will be restored. The body man will cut, put the new one in place and welded it instead of cutting it, make it and weld everything in place.

We would have bought the battery tray if we didnt already bought one from a member here.

My father will buy the other frame cover and nearly all the frame part Joe will reproduce. Even floor pan (if they ever get reproduced). Why? Because of time. Sure they are not cheap and the shipping bring the price up, but in the long run it with save so much time and time cost money!!

    That's my :2cents:...
