The Comet is a '73, 302 2BBL, three speed. Its been hit in the front and rear. From what i can see, they werent crippling blows, just enuff to move her around. On the front, the impact looks like it shoved the driver side of the bumper up two inches, Maybe even to the passenger side a quarter of an inch. In the rear, the passenger side got tagged. Nothing broken, just flared a fender end. All in all, I'm looking forward to the work it needs done. Any advice as to how I should correct these problems is welcome.
Looks like a nice solid Comet, any real rear damage you will see sighs in the trunk floor, doesn't look bad at all.The front might have a little rail damage,it's hard to tell, hopefully it's just the brackets.
Could be saved Thanks. Well with the bumper off, the rail exstention doesnt seem bent, but it is turned. If you were to look at the plate & rail stright-on, its twisted clockwise about 3/4in. Havent looked at it real good, but it doesnt seem to go back too far. Maybe not even to the first crossmember, just behind the radiator support bracket. Yeah its got cancer. The truck isnt bad, but the bottom rears need cut and patched. Usual rust in the floors, seams in trunk. Rockers and subs are good though. It'll be a little work, but what worth haven isnt?
Welcome and congrats on scoring a V8/stick car. Don't worry about that front bumper either ... just replace it with the much-more-svelte 71-72 bumper ...
Sorry 'bout that Its an auto guys. Thanks for the support. Little by little, I'll fix her up right. First things first, need to get her stright again.
