hay guy I stared working on my c4 for my 70 maverick (with the 302) and decided to put in my other c4 from my other maverick (inline 6) I’m currently working on to, my 302 fond out that it two completely driftnet bolt patters did ford have two driftnet transmissions in 1970 or did some one do some work on this car before. both cars I am the second and third owner to just wondering what happened hear both c4 were on the same inline engines at one point just wondering if any body can help me out hear
There are 2 different bellhousing patterns for the c-4. You need to find one that was on a 250 or 302. They just unbolt from the front of the tranny.
Depends on which I6 the tranny came from, but only the 250 I6 can interchange with a 302 bell pattern. Also, not likely, but SBF V8s had a different bell pattern on the blocks/trannys before mid-1965. Could be either case, but the first is most likely.
