Anyone planning to run their cars at the new Pinks 1320x event being held at SpeedWorld in Surprise, Arizona on Saturday November 1st?

There will be several classes, Outlaw 10.5, Drag Radial, and electronic and non-electronic handicap dial-in brackets. Plus, there is a chance to get your car voted into a special 16 car field to run off for a $1,000 purse!

You can get all the info and a registration form at SpeedWorld's web site at http://www.speedworlddragstrip.com/

I'm pretty sure I'm going to enter the non-electronic bracket and go for it. :D

We've been tossing around the idea of taking out the '56 (C-word vehicle) to this event. If nothing else maybe we can get some airtime. We only had a glimpse of our car down at the Tucson Pinks All-Out event and we kinda feel that they owe us now!

    Cool! (y)

I'm bummed out though because something I just read on 1320x.com
makes me think that you have to run 13.99 or quicker to run in the brackets. I'm trying to get clarification on that. :bs:

Really? I didn't read it that way, but then I didn't pay a ton of attention when I read it either. Let me know what you find out!

This weekend the "pass time" show is being filmed at SIR in Tucson. Guess there's a big bracket race on Sunday also. Call the track for more info.:)

Another buddy of mine suggested getting a big blue bottle for the day so I could run 13's. I told him I was afraid that if I used a big blue bottle that I would end up with some big chunks of metal in my big blue oil pan...:biglaugh:Glad I don't have to do that now. :D

Hey all Arizona members! I'm officially registered for the 1320x event at Speedworld dragstrip in Surprise, AZ. Come on out and vote for me so I can get into the Manufacturers Cup race. It's a class consisting of 4 Fords, 4 Chevys, 4 Mopar/Dodge, and 4 Pontiac/Olds vehicles that are voted into the class by the fans. The purse is $1000. :D

Sorry to say, but no I didn't fare well. Didn't get voted into the Manufacturers Cup race and went out first round in the non-electronic bracket. It was estimated to be around 100 cars in my bracket! They were using 6 lanes just to accomodate all of us.

We had a scorcher of a day and the car was running a tad slower because of it. I only had two time runs, a 16.64 and a 16.71. Here is how my first round demise looked by timeslip:

    MY OPPONENTS TIMESLIP

    Dial in: 11.40
    Reaction: .002
    60 ft: 1.567
    ET: 11.305
    Over/under -.095

    MY TIMESLIP

    Dial in: 16.75
    Reaction: .053
    60 ft: 2.268
    ET: 16.57 ( on the brakes !! )
    Over/under -.180

By the time first round came about it had just started to cool off a bit, but not enough ( at least I thought ) to pick a quicker dial in. Probably would not have mattered since I got treed anyway. Oh well, there's always next time! :D
