That photo was taken on Nov 1st 1988 It was Halloween night 88 .......I just left Super Shops going to race a 71 Z 28 .We raced .......a cop came ........I ran..... he chased me ........I hit a tree. I had all thread for the pull bar on the gas pedal and it hooked the fire wall ....plus I had a 250 shot on the micro switch ....Stuck WOT low gear ,250 shot ,right hand turn ,slicks and pizza cutters = Bang into big tree . You cant see it so good in the photo but you can see tree bark on the H20 pump ......the mark is 5 feet off the ground on the tree .

It was dead at the scene...... The motor was near sideways .....the trans was broken......I had butchered the shock towers up so bad the thing kind of just folded .the drivers door was pushed into the quarter. I was 17 J-302 heads big solid 10,000 RPM NOS kit and 100 PERCENT STUPID. The Penalty......The Cop was angry Trick or Treaters were out I was Arested.....100+ plus in a neighborhood ...The best thing for me was the tree !..... I had fines .....and community service at an old folks home for 3 months.My Dad beat my @$$ all the way home and the car sat in the yard for 3 months .When I told my Dad later at least I won he beat my @$$ again. STUPID HURTS !
