I found an auction on Ebay for a brand new 6A MSD ignition box and was wondering if this is a good price. I also have seen many MSD setups other than the ol' 6A so I'm not sure if this is is an outdated version or not.

The Ebay box is from some place in Maryland so it wouldn't be from Summit. I thought that the price looked good but it's just that I've seen these boxes sold at many different prices. The Ebay one is free shipping but I'd feel better going with Summit due to their customer service in case I would have a problem.

    Thanks

The 6A is an older one. The 6AL is the one I use especially if you are going to step on it every once in a while. Gives a little more protection.:)

Don, I checked the 6A and the 6AL boxes on Summit's website. The specs look identical except for the rev limiter. Is the limiter the extra protection that you mean?

    Thanks, Bob

Yes that is what Don is talking about. 6AL's come with a small assortment of chips. 3000,4000, 6000, and 7000 I believe. good sefety net to prevent over reving. TTFN Ron
