I was thinking you could modify a second set of taillights by cutting off the back up light portion and graft them together making your own Bobcat tail lights. It would have a seam but if done neatly I think it would be hard to see. If I had an extra set I would try. I think the Bobcat lights look better, but the dual lights isn't much different. They would also look cool with some sequential flashing lights light Cougar or Shelby lights.
I have Bobcat tail lights that I did away with the small back up light sections and instead added pieces from my extra red Maverick lenses. I also added extra bulb buckets to the reflector sides on the Bobcats and cut out my tail panel for them to clear so there are 3 separate sections that will light. I bought an aftermarket sequential control from Ebay to light them up. I just moved my back up lights to my valence using re-pops from a 65 Mustang.
Here's a link to an old post that has some pictures of the tail lights. That is as far as I got on them because I got more involved in the dirtier parts of the restoration work. I've got them on my very large "to finish" list. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=28258
OK, you are making me confess. Not that anyone on a Maverick/Comet group would care, but I do own a '76 Pinto Wagon that I am slowly putting back together. It's an all original, 65k Texas car that has a solid body (except for some small issues), and needs a lot of mechanical work (though it runs great). Should I change my description ? Chris
Pintos are cool little cars - somewhat like a mini Maverick. Members list a lot of their cars here that aren't Maverick/Comets. :Handshake
