The ring and pinion gears will not give you more power, but will help you use what you've got more efficiently. The gear ratio will depend on what you want to use the car for. Drag Racing go to a lower gear. I have 4.33's in mine. I run 1/4 mile. To use on the street I wouldn't go any lower than a 3.50, but that's just my opinion. They are available new from Summit racing or Jegs. Lots of them show up on ebay. Make sure you get the right ones for your rear end. The 74 came with an 8 inch rear.:)
