    Has this been done before?

I was think it would be cool. Maybe not on my car, but whe I get another Mav (I'm sure I will) this would be a cool idea.

Air could be drawn in through a grabber hood with the scoops cut out, or cut out the grille turn indicators and draw air in through there.

    What do you think?

Well, with the tunnel ram I just got, a mocked up carb can be seen through the scoop.

Not sure if I will use this with the 347, but I can always swap manifolds/carbs.

    yes its been done before.
I am working on "something" around that general idea on my car :thumbs2:

*But, always try to remember; what good is tons of air in if you can't get it out.

These are my favorite cold air setups... Torino flavor is my personal preference, but the Stang version looks good too.

This is what I had on my 75...
When it had a 302, you can see the hole in the hood exactly matched to accept the air cleaner. Only the top half of the air cleaner would protrude through, so the top of the element would always get dirty very quickly like in the Cleveland pic. The scoop is still on the car, but in a sad way...

I use a velocity stack thru the hood and it sit's right in the middle of the scoop, thru the hole. It has always worked great, even in the wet. On the rare occasion I get caught in it. Look in my pics.
