All of your great responses has helped me turn my dissapointment around to inspiration. Now I really can't wait to get my Maverick running again.

By the way, in my first post here on the message boards I reported that my car was a '77. I was wrong! It's a '73 (I've been learnin' some things).

This weekend we're setting up the canopy in the driveway for a little shade and gonna start pulling things apart to see what we can salvage. I'm going to take some pictures of the process and I'll be sure to post a few here so you guys can see what I've got.

    Can you tell I'm excited?!

Every once in a while we win one. In 2000 I entered the local Ford dealership show. It is a popular vote type which usually means we dont stand a chance. In my class was me and 2 Torino GT's, one was one of those was a factory 428CJ. Both Torinos were in my opinion much nicer cars, points wise, than my car. (this was my 77) But I took first. I didnt expect that and was a highlight for me. Then again I had the Sprint in another local show and the competition points wise would not have even been close. But with popular vote, and plaques going only as low as 3rd place, I didnt get anything. Go figure.

I agree with the comments about one of the great things about these cars is the fact they are scarce, because of that they do get a lot of attention. I know some of you guys have heard some not so favorable remarks about our cars, but I have always gotten positive comments about mine . . . even my project cars! :D
