Stuck at home because of the weather, we decided to put the stripes on the 72 Grabber. This was the one that was supposed to be done sometime this summer... Nothing like putting stripes on your car to realize the imperfections in Ford manufacturing in the 70s. Thanks to Lonnie for some great stripes, the material lays right on. And thanks to qicvick for help with the color matching! We still have to tuck the edges, and put the hood stripe and tail panel stripe on, but at least we got this done. It was a nice Christmas Eve. Happy Holidays! Sarah
Man....that looks gooooood! I like the color. Lonnie did make some sweet stripes. I have been thinking of repainting mine black and having Lonnie make the grabber stripes with the two purples (PINK) that is on the car now! Looks great Sarah!
I didn't want to tackle the hood on Christmas Eve, there might be swearing I think, New Year's Eve might be better.
Hey Don! We finally got the Speed Channel last week and I finally got to see you on Passtimes! I wasn't even watching the show that close and I perked up when I heard Maverick and there was a blue car I recognized!
They make a gel to let the decal glide while installing it. When you get it in the right position you just squeegee it out.You can get it at any paint supply.I do not remember the name but I bet Lonnie would know.
We use the good old fashioned 1 tablespoon Dawn dish soap(has to be the original blue kind) to 1 gallon of warm water, works great. You have quite a bit of sliding around time before it sticks.
Ooh, those stripes are beautiful, and Don was on Passtime! Someone needs to record this and put it on Youtube!
