if you jack it up and leave the wheels on and try to roll it out the tires will hit the wheel wells. you have to take them off. support the diff on a jack and undo the rear leaf sping shackels. once every thing is disconected you can just roll it out on the jack.
Inspect your u-bolts and center bolt in springs good. Now would be the time to replace. If you need u-bolts, take old ones to spring shop an they will make them for you. Good luck
got it out and the axle part painted just need to tear it apart and redo brakes and lines and everything else here is a pic
i find it best to do the brake job with the rearend in the car. this way it is more stable and the springs-and-things go in smoother...JMO ...:Handshake...
Ouch! That's pretty rough. I'd try to remove all the bad metal (but leave the spring perch intact), then weld (16 gauge min.) overlays on the affected areas making sure to get the overlay back to good solid metal so the weld won't self-destruct. Russ
yeah that is what I am gonna do, I am going to have my grandpa help me and if it looks to cobbled up eventually I will find a good framerail and graft it in. it is really weird because the other side is like perfect.
Oh sure, Gene, rub it in...... That's EXACTLY what I want to do with my rear end. Did that sound right? Chris
Lol I just powerwashed the rearend, then got a wire brush and some sandpaper and 2 cans of 99 cent semi gloss. Doesn't look too bad to me.. Although I would like to slap either a finned aluminum or a chrome cover on the pumpkin.
