How do I troubleshoot/correct a blend door problem on a 1977 Maverick? Both hoses to/from the core are hot, but it is still not blowing hot air... it is just luke warm.

    Can anyone assist?

Sounds like either your heater control valve under the hood (in the heater hose) is going bad or possible a stopped up heater core. Hopefully it's the valve because a heater core is a pain in the arse. Good luck with it.

    More information please

So, if the heater value is going bad, why would both hoses be hot... which would indicate flow of water from input to output.

Any idea on the blend door?

Does the car have factory A/C?

No, it had aftermarket air, but I removed it last summer. Is it possible that I didn't reconnect something correctly?

Without factory A/C it's pretty simple. Move the temp control back and forth, and check if the blend door arm moves (far right) even pop the cable off, and see if you can move it by hand. What about the defrost? does it switch from defrost to heat?
If the blend door is working, the I'd flush your heater core, it may be hot, but without flow, you don't get alot of heat.
