I'm very sorry for your loss. I also have a question for you. Did the car have one of those glass fuel filters with the chrome ends, that are able to be taken apart to be cleaned. Just an educated guess, but I say it did and that was the cause of the fire. WARNING-WARNING-DANGER WILL ROBINSON-WARNING-- TAKE THEM OFF NOW-- SURE THEY LOOK GOOD NOW, BUT HOW DO THEY LOOK AFTER THE FIRE???

Well I guess she is on her way to being reborn or sold, one or the other. I tore down the top half of the motor today. Got the intake, carb, alternator, rockers, pushrods and battery out. I also took out the radiator and some other small stuff. I think I may be able to pull the motor in a couple hours on sunday. I guess its up to the old man now to see what life brings for her. I am still thinking about selling some of the stuff I mentioned so I'll keep you guys informed from this thread. Peace

Keep up the motivation loxman. It sounds like you have the ability and knowhow for the project. We would love nothing more than to see you come out of this ahead. Good luck with whatever your choice is!

Yeah If I redo mine I am going to use braided line that is similiar to a nitrous feed line...That way there are solid connections and that line is pretty tough to tear up....

Yeah but we had been working on the fuel line during the nitrous install...So i think it may have stemmed from that...

Well I couldn't find the one piece front from JC WHitney, but I did cal MAS and they have them, so as soon as the old man green lights it, out cometh the motor and off the the sand blaster....I am going to use a painless wiring harness and an 8 panel switch board to control the car this time. I am trying to figure out what gauges to use too. All I had last time was Tach, Oil pressure, and Water Temp. This time I was thinking all of those plus Fuel Pressure and most likely Nitrous Pressure. Other than that I can't see the point of like tranny temp and stuff....Maybe an EGT gauge but I dunno, what are you pro street guys running? Later

brett, if you plan on making it a racecar or will make some trips to the strip with it make sure you check the rule book first as i know nhra does not like havin a fuel pressure guage inside the car. don't know anything about the nitrous. i think there are some fuel guages that work w/o having fuel in them, but i havent checked them out. :)
