The 200 is out and 250 is in...

The kickdown and shift linkages are different. I need to know what I need in order to iron out all the little differences like these and any others that might arise in the near future!!!!

i.e. what year and engine size linkage works?

    Thanks in advance!!!

The linkage from any '71-'77 Maverick/Comet with a 250 will work. I'll bet someone on here has one laying around. You may try sending an email to Craig Selvey or Mean Maverick. I'd imagine one from a Granada would work as well. I went from a 200 to a 250 and then back to a 200 in my '72. The only other things I had a problem was, was I had to get new radiator hoses, and I had to replace the down pipe off the exhaust manifold. because the 200 pipe wasn't long enough, the 250 is a taller engine. Other then that it was pretty much all bolt in.

Thanks Jamie, I am now looking for anyone who has these parts and wishes to part with them. I would like to get the mav back on the road really soon!!!!

Would autokrafters have them? my computer is running very slow!! I dont feel like waiting for the catalog to download!!

This is about the only site that actually runs close to normal speed for some reason...i am not complaining though!!:)

    Update

Well, just got the 250 running today!!!!!!!:yahoo::bananaman:clap:

I am only waiting on the shifter, most likely going with B&M Star Shifter, and then I can drive it to a shop and have the down pipe extended as Jamie said. The last thing is to find a 250 vacuum diagram. It runs VERY smooth now, hard to imagine what it would be like with the exhaust pipe connected and all vacuum lines where they need to be!!! I am so excited. Thank you Jamie for you help and thank you Superlead for the motor!!!
