    Yes I'm a new guy but sorry I don't own a maverick of commet I own a 64 fairlane. I'm pretty sure some of you guys are familiar with the 170 2.8 I6 though! I pretty sure you guys can help me out!

    Welcome, you will be home here. I also love the old Fairlanes. Buddy of mine had a 66 when we were in High School. He rode that thing hard and put it up wet everyday. It had a 289 and 3 speed. He finally totaled it. Luckily I wasn't in it. He wrapped it around a tree and walked home. lol
    GrabberJoe, I had an old 53 M38A1 Jeep that had a 289 "Special" my inlaw put in it. Man that engine would SCREAM! Loved that Jeep.
