Thanks dude!... yep... they're both keepers. The red one is my daily driver (except Dec. to March where I drive the van with ABS for the ice). The little six is cheap and reliable and will remain as-is except for a hood scoop to accomodate the 2 barrel.

The V-8 with a stick will be a summer cruiser. Hope I can find pedals and a 4 speed or 5 speed eventually.

I bought a canopy today to cover them. Need to cut back another 20 feet off the hedge to make it fit both cars. Girlfriend is pretty miffed at me... but this means inadvertently I have to do more gardening.

Very nice Robb! Lots of fun catching the bug, huh? Looks like a good starting place to do what you want. Has the same trim as Paul's 73 Comet, here in Seattle....

Thanks!... I got the bug when we "toured" your collection. Now I wish I had taken you up on that rear seat last year! If we cruise again next year I may have to look at the toy cars again, I think mine is the same colour as yours.

    Hi Robb,
Very cool, I like the car, we could of almost been twins with that car. I like the two tone. Score with all the parts, that is for sure. I like the finned vavle covers, those are worth some coin too. The carb(demon) would easily be worth 500.00 retail. Now that I have seen pictures here on the forum, I really would like to come see it in person. Let's go for coffee. We could cruise up to a starbucks and park 'em out front.
Definitely gotta put an event together locally this summer, eh!
Till then, you got my #, let me know.

Nice project. Congrats. I can relate to the girlfriend vs carport thing. We added a walk in closet to the house near the front door 2 years ago. Took 5 feet off the end of the garage put up a wall with a man door a we have a walk in closet with a ton of staorage. Then I got the Mav. The garage is 6 inches too short for the car. Told my wife I want to move the wall in a foot on the closet. You can imagine how that went over. I'm still workin on her. Maybe I can talk her into going away for a weekend and then move the wall.:):)

    Caught with my pants down...

Told my girlfriend I would shampoo the upstairs carpets this weekend... but it was sunny, and when she got home from work I was in HER carport with the compressor and the red Comet.

She honked for about 30 seconds - - solid - - then made me move my car out.

Then she told me to DO THE CARPETS OR ELSE... so - ssshhh! - I can't work on the car till next weekend.

Heya Ryan!... cruisin and coffee sounds good but will have to wait for the time being (but Jack Bean is my fave coffee house)... maybe in 2 weeks time? I got several doctor's appointments and varying shift work for a little while.

And Darren - good luck moving that garage wall into the house V-E-R-Y slowly... build a false wall on wheels like we do on film sets, tack it in place with screws, then gradually move it into the closet an inch at a time. Pretty soon you'll have the NEEDED SPACE to not only fit the car properly but also build a workbench to keep the car company!

    Won't that be swell?

If you get caught, you might even wind up sleeping in there too! :yup:
