I currently have a 71 with a 302 that I would like to upgrade to Duraspark II ignition. I noticed that for the Duraspark II cars there are two distributors listed, one with a steel gear and one with a cast iron gear and it's clearly stated that the wrong one will cause problems. Which is the proper one to use in the 71 302?

steel gear is for most roller cams.
cast iron gear for most flat tappet cams.

roller cam engines weren't produced untill the mid 80's, so pretty much any that is pre-1984 will be flat tappet
