When you have power steering. You need the drop down bracket. It will cost you about $17. I can show you mine at the Colby cruise....

Had them on my last car. I'd give them a 9 out of 10 for fit. Had manual steering so no issues. Easy install. Lift engine one side at a time and install from bottom. Still have them in the garage. They rusted up pretty quick on the car. So not good if you want pretty.

Will the drop down bracket correct the header problem for most headers or just for the 6901?

Yes! I have Flotech headers on my car. I used the Flotech drop down bracket (FLO#10041). The bracket will work on any Maverick/Comet...

They fit like a glove. When I got them, they were $90. The power steering drop down bracket, was $15. They are the FLOJ12100 headers. I reused the metal stock manifold gaskets. I still have the new header gaskets, on my shelf, in the package. The stock metal exhaust manifold gaskets, have been on the car, for over 6 years. Haven't had to replace a gasket yet. Which means, the headers have not warped.

Lots of ground clearance. I've taken it to the local drag strip. I've driven it from, Seattle, Wa, to L.A., Calif. I've driven to British Columbia, Canada. I driven to Lewiston, Idaho. I drive everywhere, & I don't baby it. Trust me, I'm on it, every chance I get.... I even have a front spoiler on the car & don't worry about it hitting curbs & driveways either....
