My Fairmont Squire was built in Mexico. My VIN and all that are NOT searchable on US/CDN websites. That said, the Axle code on the Ford Mexico plate (driver's door) is "A".

The ratio tag on the diff. is 3.07. This is not your garden-variety Fairmont rearend. It should be 3.08 (WGX-B). I don't have the other tag, but I did clean off the Right hand axle and got the:

    Date Of Assembly: 8 27 79 B (August 27, 1979, B = Afternoon shift)
Bill Of Materials Number (BOM): 751620-1

The Mavericks had a 3.07:1 Differential from 1975 to 1978, and I wondered if you guys might know what the part number is for the Ford Pinion Dust Seal and Crush flange. Mine leaks a drop every 200 miles or so, so its not an URGENT issue, but my Favourite Ford Dealer is moving his dealership and he may still have one around. I just can't nail it, for a P/N.

Also, my buddy and I found a shop here who still has 132 tooth Ring Gears for the C4 torque converters (Apparently getting scarce), if any of you are looking:

    Ask for Jeff or John:

Outstanding, professional and clean work. If we could get a rebuilt TC, they were $180 plus shipping. There weren't ANY in Western Canada. With Seals and taxes, we paid $176 (CDN$). They had all the seals (front, rear and pan.)

    Thanks! That solves that!.

I looked here and saw the Dana 44 bolt pattern (same as mine), but the DANA 60 has the 3.07:1 ratio and the Fox Fairmont/ Zephyr have 3.08:1). I'll go with your assessment, thanks again: :thumbs2:

Here's the DANA site for anyone looking for info:
    http://www2.dana.com/expertforms/demenu.aspx

And this site lists all of the Ford Rearends, but shows pics for trucks.
