I just picked up this Maverick last week. I saw it on Craigslist and couldn't resist. I bought it the first day it was out. It's a 72 (not a 71) It's got a mustang II conversion and a late 60's 460 in it. It's still got an 8" in the rear, but I have a 9" with a 3:50 trac loc and 31 spline axles that I want to put in. The 9" is from a 69 Mustang. It's a little wider, but I figured I could just get some rims with deeper backspacing. The car is set up as a sleeper. It still has the 14" steel wheels as you can see. I will probably add some wheels and I would like to get some sanderson block hugger headers. I don't know a whole lot about the car as of yet. The guy I bought it from didn't build it. He had a bunch of high dollar cars at his house, and this was his knock around car. He kept it in a shipping container at his storage yard in Staten Island. My first car was a 70 Maverick. It had a 6 cyl. 200 in it, so this car has twice the motor and then some. I could use any advice the members want to give me. My first question is: where can I get some leaf springs for this car? I bought and paid for a 4 leaf set on ebay, from Maverick Connection in WV. He refunded my money the next day because he was "out of stock indefinitely" I would rather have some springs a little firmer than stock. My second question is: who makes subframe connectors for Mavericks? I haven't owned a Maverick in many years so I'm not familar with where to get parts. I had quite a few other cars though, between my first car (70 Maverick) and this one.
