    i have a 71 maverick 200-ci... i did a oil change about 3 weeks ago n today when i checked the oil dipstickit only had alittle jus on the tip close to being empty..it doesnt leak any oil from anywhere..so what's wrong...could any1 help me

    Was the car off and cold ? Dose your car smoke? How much oil did you put in it?

    yea it was off n cold.. no it only throws out smoke when i turn it on sometimes..i filled it till it said safe on the dipstick .. about 4 quartz

    yeah that's the same problem i had. I opened up the valve cover and replaced every single valve stem seal. it works like a charm. but i still lose oil cause the valve cover gaslet and the oil pan gasket has a new leak.

    but before you open it up, pressure wash the top end and bottom end of the engine, drive it for a week then look to see where the oil is leaking.
