:thumbs2:Hello to all Maverick/Comet lovers. I am new to this forum and wonder if anyone might have a fuel tank for a 1970 Maverick I am in the process of building. I am just getting started and plan to put a 302 in initially. Would like to hear from you guys.

:Welcome:to this board. 70 tanks are in deed rare. if you have the original, Renu can fix it up to look like new. Ck out a previous post requiring the same tank. There is a address for the Renu company.:yup:

Welcome aboard! Good luck on the tank...very hard to find. I would be curious to find out how close the Mustang tanks are. They are drop in tanks also.

Thanks for the awesome welcoming committee. Due tothe economy I had to take a small break from the 1970 Maverick track/street car I am building. Man, was I depressed. Am back in the shop again and have it running, however, I have a question I hopesomeone can answer. The engine is a 302 5.0 from a 1995 F 150 truck. Is there an alternate flywheel and balancer I can useor does it have to be from another truck engine. Also, would the same partsfrom a Mustang engine fit. Does it have to be a 1995 or will any other years convert? You guys know I am a novice and I appreciate all the help I can get, so that maybe one day i will have knowledge enough from you to pass it on to someone else. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Most 302 parts will fit but check the specifics for each part. As for the flexplate and balancer you need to make sure they are a 50 Oz. imbalance. Make sure wether you need a 157 or 164 tooth flexplate. :)

Thanks to all who replied when I first joined last year. Had to take a break due tooth economy but am back on the building of the 1970 Maverick. Engine is from a 1995 F 150 truck.Tranny is automatic C4, no overdrive, and I have no experience with automatics. Took the car for a spin around the block the other day and the vibration was bad. Discoveredthat I need another flywheel and harmonic balancer as the ones on the car did not come from the F 150 engine. Am looking for used hopefully both from the same engine. Have received some good advice pertaining to 50 oz imbalance, and need to know what if anything else will convert. You can tel lI am a novice but I hope not to be one of these days. this has been my dream and I am finally on it but have a lotto learn. Anyhelp would be appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Wave Belch

So you basically need a 157tooth 50oz. balance flexplate. Summit has them for around $100,dont even run the car anymore youll rattle that engine apart.Heres a link to the one you need, youll have to cut and paste it into your address bar sorry
