Progress has been a little slow partially due to waiting on parts & making time to work on it. Here is the latest. Using the Pro Charger there was not going to be enough room for the power steering pump so I converted to manual. Looks much cleaner under there now. :yup: On the engine I am down to the installation of the Pro Charger. I will be running a blow through Carb that I have ordered from C & S Specialties. I do have a question about the Pro Charger that I will post in the Technical Section.

I am really impressed with the amount of work you've gotten done in the past 2 months. I hope you're taking that car to Joplin in July

Thanks Bob. I could not have come this far this fast without some help. I have a friend that is helping me & that is a great motivator. Not sure if I can make it happen in time for Joplin but I will definitely try. That would be a blast.(y)

Isn't that a lot of motor for your 8" rear? I know they say that they can be fairly strong but has anybody out there used one with that kind of horsepower? I'm hoping that someone says yes because I really don't want to go to all the trouble of shortening a 9" for mine. The motor looks great, everything is coming together beautifully, keep up with the updated pictures

Looks like an excellent build. Good stuff. :thumbs2:

There was the mention of head studs ... Has anyone done head studs on a 302 in a Mav? With the shock towers being what they are, I was wondering if you can still get a head off the motor with it in the car?

i actually did that this spring, i had ARP bolts and one wouldnt let go so i had to shave out the bolt head without scratching the head. I LOVE my dremel and shop vac. so i got studs instead and put it back together in the car. you have to go slow but it can be done, even with headers... ;)

    Cool info ...

I did a search after posting and there was mention of some brand of studs that also have a hex key socket in the end so that they can be turned into place even with the head on the block. :thumbs2:

    Update:

Not a lot of progress but it's getting there. I got the Pro Charger mounted to the motor! :yup: The Carb & Trany will be here next week. Next weekend I may be dropping it in the car.

    Update

Yesterdays progress: I replaced the front disc pads & rotors. I set the engine in place & attached the motor mounts. I was woried about the Pro Charger fitting. I had about a 1/4" to spare between it & the fender well. :yup: Transmition will be here Moinday. Next weekend should be more productive.
