I got one of those tornados and now I get better gas milage than the next-door hippie's hybrid.

I get usually around 23 in town and being real nice with it on the highway i have squeezed 27 out of it
    302 (91 5.0 HO) about 80,000 miles
    B303 cam
    performer RPM intake
    650 dp Holley
    Duraspark Ignition
    stock E7 heads
    T-5 trans
    3.89 rear gear
At 60 MPH it only revs 1800 rpm,and i try to keep it around 1200-1500 in town.
Oh and the car has gone 12.90 at 106 mph at the dragstrip.

With the original 3:00 gear my 351W was getting 17 mpg if kept between 60 and 70 mph. At 80 mph that would drop to 15.
You could hear it getting in to secondaries a bit ... I had to buy a bigger amp for the stereo  (no A/C, windows open a couple inches, motor going WAAAAAAAA ...)

When I switched to 4.62 gears, gas mileage became 6 mpg city and 0 mpg highway. ( it didn't go out on the highway anymore ... ;)).
Fun at the dragstrip, but miserable most everywhere else.

Just installed 3:55s in it and can't wait to try them out... I plan on driving this car a bunch again.
