    Hey guys:

Where in general would one source new U-bolts for rear ends? Mine are rusty and nasty, and with rebuilding/restoring the rear end I would like to source some new ones.

AMKproducts does not have the right size (2.375" c-c x 6.25" l, 7/16-20) - these are for a Pinto 8" rear end, I was hoping you guys might have a good general resource outlet for such an item.

    Thanks!

    Chris

I bought a set from AutoZone, that were the next sized bigger in diameter and way too long (I think they were intended for putting in blocks and jacking up a jeep or truck). I drilled out the mounting platform in my Cal-Tracs so they would fit through the holes, and then cut the extra threaded material off the bottom, for a stronger bolt and better, newer look.

I think I got them for $12 for the pair.

I get mine at six states(they make drivelines too) they make me whatever I want and it is usually pretty cheap. The last ones I got for my jeep were about $6 a pair. This is really good for axle conversions and odd sizes because you can get whatever thread length you want.
