What you want are referred to as "header mufflers" They are meant to be bolted to the header collector.Word of warning though...header mufflers dont live long, due to the heat and flame they are subjected to.I would put the mufflers where 302 72 mav has his. :yup:

A larger pipe will sound deeper but a smaller will be louder. And you will make more torque with a proper sized ask the experts on this site... and im no expert i just read articles lol

A header muffler has a 3 bolt flange on it... it bolts dirrectly to the header.

Yep you'll lose power with 3 inch exhaust. Less scavenge effect on the exhaust gasses.

i was thinkin that if the header colecteris a 3" i would thin making the pipe go smaller would slow the flow of exhaust from exiting the motor i was thinking if it was a 3" and keeping everything 3" it would not get obstructed and just flow out. thats what i thoght but i guess alot of people think this and have been throught this before i have another thread about my motor i would like peopl to read it an comment on it please.
