Ok I have now got two 3-speed/OD trannys. the one I got yesterday has a shifter but It is for an econoline van 3 foot tall...and the other didn't come with one...I currently have a borrowed one from chuck, but wanted to know what other were using and if you can provide part numbers. Robert
Though about that but the setup for the van has it fitted close to the front of the tail shaft. The guy at summit last weekend said he talked to hurst and you have to use their universal shifter......I have been all over their web site and can't find anything for this tranny....except in their ID pages. Robert
Toploader heaven sells an adapter plate for this tranny that you can use to bolt on Hurst's shifter for 65 to 73 Ford small block toploaders
Looks like just a block of aluminum.....which wouldnt be hard to make if I had the measurements. 75 bucks is a little much for it when all the others are in the 40 buck range. Robert
Are these automatics or manual transmissions ? If manuals, then Hurst still makes the installation kits for their shifters.
I have the same shifter you do in a box. All you need to do is replace it with one from another application, it should bolt right onto the same adapter block the truck/van shifter did. It's simply a standard Hurst shifter with a longer shifter handle. And provided the reverse lever is the same (some have a "dogleg" lever, some don't) the rods should also go right in place
