Good points. My point to this guy is, fix the easy stuff, then stop fighting it and just swap in a good radiator. It is an easy group of parts. Thermostat, water/coolant, water pump, a couple of hoses, and then the radiator. The radiator is of course the last thing to swap, but usually fixes the problem if the other things dont. But if you feel the need to use "water wetter" or other snake oil products, then you have a problem with the parts that really needs to be addressed, even if the bandaid fixes work for a short time.
So far i still have the the car running around 200 even with new hose t-stat and coolant, and now radiator. What is the normal operating temp supposed to be? I have a gear drive instead of timing chain that i imagin produces more heat. It also seems that i allways seem to have air in the top of the radiator after it cools and coolant in the overflow. thank you for your help.l
Do you have a shroud on the radiator? That can make a huge difference. Try that before you buy a new radiator.
