Uh, man I read this post before you edited it. There's no shame in admitting you took a corner too fast and ate a ditch. Anybody who has never lost control of a car hasn't really driven in my opinion. Yoko may have ruined the Beatles but her tires are just fine...
Where I came from people ended up in ditches all the time. It wasn't always because they were driving too fast ( although that was usually the reason where the city slickers were concerned ). My Dad put his mail truck in a ditch on three seperate occassions. Twice he was trying to avoid hitting a deer and once while trying to not hit a black bear. Those critters don't care if the mail gets delivered on time or not.
Big bumpers didn't save mine. Ironically, I've put 9 times as many daily driven miles on the small bumpered one as I did the big bumpered one, and it's just fine.
Tires aren't going to put you in a ditch on their own. I daily drove a truck with mud terrains on it for two years, which anyone will tell you do not grip in the rain, and suck more on ice. The only time that truck ever went in the ditch it was driver error, either by locking the fronts up while braking in the middle of a turn or drifting it around corners (rolled it once that way, it caught and spun the other direction into the ditch and there was enough momentum to carry it back over to its side. My Maverick is wearing a set of Primewell's right now which are literally imported from china and it's just fine.
Hey it's o.k. to ditch it at least your fine and you have the guts to admit you ditched it, we all can't be perfect.
I went into a ditch backwards at 70 mph once ... (I was going about 95 when I got it crossed up ...) That was almost a "poop in the pants" experience ... good times .... Were you on pavement, or a dirt road when you lost it? Wet or dry? (the road ... not your pants..)
well i was thinking about it over the time i was waiting for a tow truck and i actually wasnt going too fast and thinking about the previous accident... i wasnt going to fast that time eather:16suspect im not that bad of a driver but then my dad explained to me the deal of turning and braking and how it doesnt work so well
it had been wet earlier that day (and probably why their wasnt to much damage...) on an old paved road... also they have been dropping rocks in patches so i could have caught a few rocks:16suspect
