do you have a temp gage? its a good idea to have one. in this circumstance a infered temp gun would be handy. you can see if the t-stat is working by checking the temp on the intake and the t-stat housing. replace the radiator cap or have it tested. they are cheap so its usually easyer just to replace it. if you start pulling the heater hoses then pull the upper radiator hose from the t-stat housing and make sure that there is a t-stat in it. the water pump may be bad. the impeller may have broken loose from the shaft or has just caroaded away. you will have to pull the pump to check that. they are pretty cheap also if your going to pull it then you may as well just replace it.
Thanks guys , blew the core out with garden hose , lots of crud in there , lots of heat now !! No leaks , free fix.. Thanks to you Guys.. Cheers ..
Just make sure you don't get a leak now from the heater core. Just watch for any water/coolant in the passenger floorboards.
