Question about the Maverick logo

    Why did the Maverick logo come with a Steers Head on the logo?

    I know a Maverick is an Unclaimed or Unbranded Horse but, why
    no Horse on the logo like the Pinto, Bronco or Mustang?

    just wondering :rolleyes: if anyone knew the answer

    It's not a horse, fellers. It's a bull, "bull-headed" or more in particular (from Webster) :


    1 : an unbranded range animal; especially : a motherless calf
    2 : an independent individual who does not go along with a group or party"

    I was under the impression a Maverick was an Unclaimed or Unbranded Horse. According to Webster, it's ANY Unclaimed animal? :confused:
    So, help me out here... I've been trying to think of a Personalized Plate for my Maverick and I've been trying to think of a Horse Theme... I should be thinking of a Bull / Steer Theme? :slap:

    All my relation from my Mothers side are originally from north Texas. Quite a few of them either owned or worked for cattle ranches. When I was there as a child, we went to one of the calf brandings and the ranch hands refered to the range cattle as Mavericks. I don't recall anyone calling the range horses by that name.

    I went with the horse theme anyway and used "DRKHRSE" (black car). I wonder if you could get "NO BULL" on yours?
