I was moving the Mav out of the garage (the wife wanted a picture, I assume for some sort of Christmas present) and the stupid sloped driveway along with momentum made it run right over the wheel chock and it dented my rocker. Then it ended up in the street and I couldn't get it pushed back up the curb with my wife and her sister helping! It took help from the lady across the street all dressed for church to get it back up the curb. I HATE when stupid stuff like this happens! Make me feel better and tell me something stupid that caused damage to your car???
Never done anything like that. I once parked in front of a parking block and forgot. Came out of the store, got in the car, put it in drive. This was in my 76 Firebird which sat rather low. Bent my rocker too so yea.
Well...No damage but my 48 Plymouth rolled out of the driveway into Fillmore avenue(Busey main road) at rush hour. I was in the house eating dinner. We were wondering what all the beeping hornes were about and went to look... Low and behold...Car must have been there for at least 5 minutes.I promptly adjusted the hill holder(parking brake) after that episode.
I got one for you. I backed into an invisible "guard pole thing" at a gas station and did this. The thing I hit was in a horrible spot, and was already at a 45 degree angle from all the other cars that have hit it. It was an inverted "U" shape thing next to a pump, missed the bumper entirely, and I swear I was not going above a slow walking speed. I have since fixed it, (and with much less filler than it had to begin with) but that was a bad, bad day...
Heres a good one 77 maverick broke down along side road on the way home 2nd shift, walked 2 miles the rest the way home got tool & wifes car (67 bug) and I went back to fix it to limp it home.I got there I pulled up in front of it got out with tools and started towards the car and the bugs wheels turned and it rolled right down into a big ditch. I had 2 stranded cars.
When I fist got my '77 Maverick I wasn't used to driving it yet. The car has power steering which my old Mustang I traded the Maverick for didn't. Long story short, I pulled into the drive through window at the bank and while waiting for my money I rested my arm on the steering wheel. I didn't notice that I had turned the wheel to the right and when I pulled out to leave I ran up over the concrete divider between the lanes. I flattened out the rocker panel but good.
WOW! Look at all that filler that showed up! I have done too many stupid things to even START to list. Such as stopping my electric fan with my thumb (fan won). Buying my wife a convertible black mustang (lost my garage to her car). Bought a 750 HP Street holley carb thinking the 600 was running lean, found out it was just hot spark plugs. Facelessnumber benefitted from that mistake. Oh, yeah, this one time when I was down in the river bottom in the middle of summer pulling the small bumpers, valences, and rear spoiler off an old grabber in copperhead infested piles of leaves. On the way home, I decided to take off my sweat-soaked shirt in the truck. So, at a red light, I pulled off my seatbelt and started to pull my shirt off. Took my foot off the brake and nailed a big dually in front of me and hit his trailer ball while the shirt was still over my head. Luckily it just put a huge dent in my bumper and did no damage to him, so he let me go without calling the cops to file a report.
Who was the guy who put diesel into his maverick gas tank? I haven't heard a re-telling of that story in quite a while.
I was working on a 1965 Mustang 2+2 with the hood open, underneath my deck. I forgot the hood was open and jacked up the car. I bent the front of the hood. I'm sure if I think about it for awhile, I'll remember some other stupid things.
