Joined a few days ago and just bought a 1974 Mav last night. I'm glad I could find a website with lots of good information about them! One thing I do need though, what is the best way to convert it to power brakes? Any resources or websites with power brake kits would be helpful. Thanks
to the forum! :Handshake Here's the next meet we have coming up: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=63721&highlight=colby not sure where exactly in oregon your at but let us know if your interested in coming!
Welcome from Florida....... as for the brakes, I think you can buy the booster and master cyl. for the mav at a local parts house... But you will have to get the correct fender to cowl brace for a power brake car... Most people on the forum just dose a manual disc brake swap, they are a lot better than drum brakes... Assuming you have drum brakes on it now....
Thanks for the warm welcome, and thanks for the link Mavman72! That will definitely come in handy. I bought my 74 up in Bellingham Washington yesterday for $1500. It runs and drives just fine and it is in quite good shape for the price. Externally there is a very small amount of rust in the passenger side rear quarter panel, and there is rust on the rear bumper. It has a 250 under the hood, but I have a 302 sitting in the shop that might get swapped in eventually. Interior-wise the bench will eventually be replaced with buckets and the headliner needs to be replaced. Very happy with the purchase, most Mav's around here were going for more than 2 grand and they didn't run
