RR-252/257 HYD is the grind number 371252/257 is the part number Isky list's for this camshaft and shows it under hydralic roller 1985 and later 5.0/5.8L http://iskycams.com/timingchart.php?product_number=371252/257
indeed, it's in a roller 5.0 crate motor...the b cam that came with the crate motor was swapped by the original owner who wanted a speed density compliant cam
If you want a cam that's got a wicked lope, the B cam is what you want. I'd run it with 1.7 rockers though. The stock springs should handle it. But if you want more rev potential later on, better springs and lifters would be in order.
thanks....that's what I currently have in my 66 mustang...my 66 has a crate motor also with a t5. I absolutely love the lope of the b cam, but I don't like the lack of power below 4k rpms...so I'll be installing 4.10 gears asap in the 66. my 66 with a b cam [nomedia]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bVsOLVtmhY[/nomedia]
the 66 has a weiand stealth along with a holley 600 that's had the choke horn completly milled off, and all the jetts and everything are upgraded inside by my friend that I got it from. It's also got duraspark ignition from an 85 mustang, and the taurus 130 amp alt. For the maverick I just bought a brand new weiand stealth intake. I haven't set up a carb yet, but I've got an ancient holley 600 lying around I may just throw a rebuild at for the sake of saving cash I'm thinking though of installing the efi on the 66 mustang instead of the maverick...but that I haven't decided yet.
