That is a flat tappet cam, as far as I can tell. You don't compare roller vs hydraulic. You compare roller vs flat tappet, and hydraulic vers solid/mechanical.

So technically, if this is a flat tappet cam, you could use hydraulic or solid flat tappet lifters.

If it is a roller cam, you can use hydraulic or solid roller lifters.

    Make sense?

No...not really.lol I'm tarded when it comes to cam's,and how to read them.According to the site it's a hydraulic cam.I more than likely stated what I want to do,wrong.
I'm very much considering going to a roller setup, and was looking for info,on what roller camshaft would be compariable to the specs I posted a link to.Hopefully that helps.:)

rollers usually use steeper ramps to open close valves. Best to call couple cam tech lines and give them your spec`s an wants

Setting up a flat tappet block for roller lifters is something you need to consider as well.

setting up,do you mean drilling/tapping for the "spider"?i've been reading up on it for a while now,and a roller seems more durable, able to spin higher rpm's,less wear, ect.

Yes, that is what I'm talking about. You can do it that way, or they make lifters with "dog bones" that connect them. However you want to do it. Just wanted to make sure you were aware that something needed to happen.

I'm a big fan of roller cams.

I was at my local pull a part last weekend, getting my gt40 heads, off of an exploder, and i had the spider setup right there in my hands.I should have grabbed the damn things, but in 10 degree weather, the heads were my biggest concern:) Looks like i'm going back this weekend and grab them. The exploder was a low mile(56k)collison vehicle, and the heads, barley had any rust on them!Would it be a good idea to also grab the lifters?I've read that if there isn't any wear patterns, that they can be reused on a different cam.

    Yep, grab the lifters too.

Roller cams are much harder than flat tappets and don't burnish a unique pattern.

One roller is as good as another.

Just grab a letter cam out of the FRPP catalog. No reason to get into custom grinds.

Cam picking is like buying a tie, what works with one suit is crappy on another suit! Gotta have all spec`s an whay you gonna do with it! On-iine cam companies usually have a info sheet to list your specs
