I have a 77 maverick with a 302 in it. I installed a edelbrock air-gap intake manifold and 4 barrel carb. Since I did that, I've been having water leak into the oil. I since have taken it off and reinstalled it. But I'm still leaking water and ideas?
all I can think of is to make sure you have the correct intake gaskets that fit your water ports with no overhang. I got the wrong ones a few times(never knew there was a diff) years ago and had a water leak also. The gaskets are the same except for the water port area. Also, not sure how you are installing it...but I always put 4 long carb studs(or 1/4 redi-rod will do) into the heads(two each side) when I am ready to drop the manifold. I then drop the manifold over the studs which will guide everything down strait and evenly and keep the gasket in place. After I put in a few bolts I remove the studs and torque the bolts as usual.
