Good news regarding the owner of the motor. Just emailed me that he needs the motor out of his garage ASAP and is willing to give me the T5 tranny that has a cobra clutch pressure plate as well as a stock resurfaced flywheel the motor came with and a 600cc carb as well as a packaged deal with the damn motor.

also is willing to give me the motor for just 500 straight up. Seems like I may have found the motor I will be using!

    Go get it !
You will always wish you had if you don't. The worst that can happen is you end up rebuilding everything - a good winter project for next year.

BTW, what's a cobra clutch pressure plate? I'm going to stick with the recently rebuilt C4 I have so I don't think I will need the T5.

You could allways sell the T-5 here or elsewhere and make most if not all of your purchase price back on it...

oh trust me I am. Going to have to go rent out one of those storage units to put the stuff in until I get the conversion parts together.

the cobra clutch pressure plate had stronger clamping force than the stock clutch and an easyer pedal pressure than stock.

Reuse all your old water pump and brackets, etc. if you want to.

Mine is a 5.0 and I just put my water pump, alternator bracket, and crank pulley on it, and put on a single v-grooved belt. All those parts are interchangeable. The only thing I can think of that could throw a wrench in it all is to make sure you use the regular rotation water pump if you don't use the serpentine system. Everything else spins the right way. So slap on your old water pump if you want to go to a v-belt.

Wait, you don't have an "old" one, right? Cheap from Autozone or O'Reilly.

Here is the 1994 5.0 HO Crate Engine I put in my Grabber. Pulled EFI intakes parts off, water pump and timing cover off, oil pan and pickup off ... and replaced with carb and mechanical fuel pump parts. Runs great .....
