ok i got a pair or 550 lbs springs for mustang and they are 1in lowering springs i have them in my maverick and the engine is in place and all other body parts but its still sitting like 4in to high for me about 3inchs from fender opening to top of wheel is it better to pull the springs and cut them down now before i have i have a realignment or can i pull the spring later after driving for awhile and cut them down without getting another alignment?

If you cut them, you'll need an alignment. Drive it for a bit, the way it is, they will settle some.

It will take 2 or 3 months to settle

When I swapped out a 200 for a 302, my front end was too low so I went with v8 springs, with no noticable alignment issues. Try six cylinder springs if you have a v8 right now.

Use part number 8088 or 8090 as they have an installed height of 9" instead of 10.5". You can still get these from places that carry Moog suspension components. The 8088 have a 258 lb/in spring rate whereas the 8090 have a 291 lb/in spring rate.

Another source would be General Spring in Olathe, KS.
