So I planned on getting 2 solid days in on my Maverick this weekend. Yesterday went ok other than I probably spent 3 hrs of the day driving from parts store to parts store. Looking for Maverick parts these days is like trying to eat after my ex-wife would go shopping. Cereal...no milk. Kool-aid...no sugar. Muffin mix...again no milk. Steak...no steak sauce. I go to one parts store and they have 1 of what I need, then refer me to another. It was like a scavenger hunt.

Then today I get up and it's 49 degrees outside and it didn't really warm up till around lunch so I'm already starting late. Then some old timer that is visiting my neighbor feels compelled to come over at start yacking. He is a real know it all. One of the first things he told me was that back home he is helping his friend restore a real rare Grabber. The reason it's so rare is because it's green and it has ram air. They just pulled the body off of the frame last week and picked up all new sheet metal from the local parts store for the body which is at his house while his friend works on the frame. Dude wouldn't shut up and killed about an hour of my time....oh and I almost forgot...he even gave me one of those stories about a mint car he knew of that belonged to a soldier that got killed in Vietnam still sitting in a garage. Somebody shoot me! :bs:

Coulda shut him up and told him that we don't have a frame. lol... But that coulda been a door opener too.

I'm not a jerk but I politely told him you can't get much sheet metal for a Maverick and there wasn't a frame but he just kept on like he knew what he was talking about. Very annoying!

You, as a 15 year old, would really tell that to an elderly man? :hmmm:

Hahaha! that is too funny. The sad thing is that most of friends are like that when it comes to anything more than puttin on a cold air intake or changing the oil, but they sure do know how to talk like they know everything. ha.
