starting engine

    well after a long couple of months im almost ready to start my engine back up... its been resealed and a new timing chain.... any tips and how i should go by starting it up the right way??? getting the timing right and all

    if the cam is in time (new timing chain)...check for...TDC...on #1 (compression stroke) and let it fire...:yup:

    yea i fallowed the directions with the new timing chain and its set on tdc on #1 and i just need to get a timing light right or is that not really necessary ?

    It's necessary! Set your timing, after starting and getting to operating temp, to 6-8degrees befire TDC. If you want more, put it in. Check for vacuum leaks, and set the idle. That should do it!

    you can also time by vacuum.
